About the eventIn the eastern part of the Indian subcontinent (home to Bengalis), the new year of the traditional calendar is as much a cultural festival, as it is a way to welcome the warmth of the summer into our lives as the memory of the chilly winter fades away with the last few days of spring. This annual celebration is an endeavor to replicate the festivities back home that are part of welcoming "Boishakh", the first month of the year.At the Saint Paul Student Centre, we try to provide the students and residents a flavor of the celebration they miss back in their homelands by recreating the cultural performances mostly by the student volunteers followed by an excellent authentic Bengali style dinner. We cordially invite you to attend the festivity with us.
