About the eventEsho Hey Boishakh (এসো হে বৈশাখ) celebrates Poila Boishakh, the Bengali New Year, observed on the first day of the Bengali calendar month of Boishakh. The phrase comes from a beloved Rabindra Sangeet that welcomes the new year with a spirit of renewal, inviting it to cleanse the past and bring fresh energy, hope, and joy.
This celebration brings Bengalis together to honor their rich cultural heritage through music, dance, food, art, and community gatherings. It is a day that symbolizes new beginnings, cultural pride, and the preservation of traditions passed down through generations. Through vibrant performances, traditional attire, and shared meals, the festival reflects the warmth, creativity, and collective spirit that define Bengali culture. Our event aims to recreate this joyful tradition by bringing the community together to celebrate the Bengali New Year, share authentic cultural experiences, and strengthen connections among students, families, and friends. |
